Lauren Nella, PT, DPT, OCS, CMPT

Lauren has been an orthopedic physical therapist for ten years. She comes to Endurance PT with experience in many different clinical settings, working with young athletes recovering from injury as well as older adults getting back to their passions. Her mission is to initiate change using manual therapy and then teach each patient to sustain that change with targeted neuromuscular re-education, exercise, and body motor control.

She graduated with highest honors from Emory University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2014 and then completed Emory’s Orthopedic Residency. Knowing orthopedics was her calling, she became a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist in 2015. Lauren became certified in manual therapy in 2021 and continued on to pursue a Fellowship through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAOIMT), which she is expected to complete in 2024. She uses what she has learned through her extensive post-graduate education to teach other young PTs through continuing education courses.

Lauren prides herself on her diagnostic skills, believing that an accurate diagnosis is what leads to a quicker recovery. She thrives on the variety of working with all patients but has a special interest in working with recreational and competitive athletes of all ages. She also enjoys treating those with non-specific neck, hip, and low back pain that "comes out of nowhere”. She utilizes various techniques and tools in her treatment including functional dry needling, myofascial decompression (cupping), and joint mobilization and manipulation. Deciding which technique to use is dependent on the patient, valuing their own goals and passions in the road to recovery.

Lauren is married with a young daughter. When not in the clinic, Lauren loves staying physically active, golfing (or attempting), cooking, reading, and spending time with her family.
